Porter Performing Arts Center is owned and maintained by the Newton County School System located on the Newton College and Career Academy campus. It is operated by the Arts Association in Newton County. NCSS District offices, NCCA and the Arts Association have first priority in scheduling space at Porter each year. Selected remaining dates are available to NCSS schools and outside clients.
 

School facilities shall not be used to conduct any profit-making activity by private for-profit organizations, private individuals, or individual employees.

* Since this is a shared facility between Newton County Schools and Arts Association, there are limited opportunities available for outside rentals.


RESERVATION REQUESTS
All requests for reservations must be submitted in writing via this form. 


Due to the high demand, those wishing to rent the facility are encouraged to include alternate dates. Dates for all reservations are subject to facility, resource and personnel availability. There are no guarantees regarding the availability of dates.

Please remember to allow for adequate setup and breakdown time in your request. No one will be admitted prior to your arranged access time. All participants and/or attendees must have exited the facility no later than your arranged time or additional fees will be assessed.

Please be aware that weather-related and/or other school system closures will be observed. Events will be rescheduled when possible.


NOTIFICATION OF SCHEDULING
The person listed as the event contact will receive an acknowledgment when the reservation request submission is received. If the requested date(s) and alternates are not available, other opportunities may be offered, if available. Availability of personnel and facility resources to ensure a successful production, while maintaining the integrity of the facility, will be considered in all reservation requests.

The theater operations staff which includes the Operations Director of the Arts Association and Principal of NCCA and/or their designated staff, are responsible for all scheduling and resolution of scheduling conflicts.


RENTAL RATES (HOURLY)
Non-Profit Organizations $90/hr (setup, breakdown & rehearsal)
$110/hr (performance time)

Additional fees may be applied for any necessary technical, custodial or security personnel, supplied expendables/consumables, and use of certain equipment or decorative items. Please see below and inquire for specifics.


WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • Stage, lobby, dressing rooms, concession area and box office, as needed

  • House (audience seating 596)

  • Tables and chairs from available on-site stock

  • Standard stage lighting and sound with wired microphones

  • Standard stage curtains 

  • Facility supervisor or house manager 

  • Speaker's lectern with microphone

ALL EQUIPMENT, FURNISHING, SUPPLIES & OTHER ITEMS SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY 

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED

  • Stage, lighting and sound technicians ($35 to $55 per hour per technician depending on needs)

  • Weekend custodial or additional custodians for quick turn-arounds ($25 per hour per custodian)

  • Security (School Resource Officer), if required ($25 per hour per officer, four hour minimum)

  • Wireless Microphones ($10 per pack + liability assumed as stated in rental contract for repair or replacement at current prevailing cost)

  • Video Projector - $100 

  • Steinway Grand Piano ($150 tuning fee)

  • Choral Risers - $50

LEASE AGREEMENT
Lease agreements will be issued in a timely manner following final agreement upon dates & times requested in the reservation request. An official authorized to enter into contractual agreements for your organization must sign the contracts. Following receipt of signed contracts, a countersigned copy will be returned for your records. Failure to return contracts within the specified time could result in loss of your reservation. Lease agreements are due along with at least a deposit of the estimated event charge by the due date listed in the rental agreement. 

Fees for additional time, labor, rental items and/or consumables will be billed and are due at the conclusion of the event.


INSURANCE (STATE REQUIREMENT - PLEASE READ)
Georgia state law enacted by passage of HB 382: The law requires any individual, group or organization utilizing public school facilities to provide and maintain a $1-million liability insurance policy for the duration of the contracted use of the facility. A certificate naming Porter Performing Arts Center, Newton County School System and Arts Association in Newton County as an additional insured on the policy must be provided with the deposit and lease agreement. If proof of insurance is not provided, the lease agreement will be considered null and void.

CANCELLATIONS
Should it become necessary to cancel a scheduled date, notify the theater staff as soon as possible. Cancellation of your reservation will result in forfeiture of all deposits.

WAITING LISTS

A waiting list database will be maintained when requested dates are not available. Should a date become available, it will be filled from this database, when possible.
